Each particular items to be protested must be submitted in writing and be accompanied by the cash amount required of the particular protest and be presented to the tech director within 10 minutes of the last event of the evening.  At least one official and the protester will be authorized to be present during the protest inspection.  A protest can be made only be the car owner or driver that is participating in the same race event.  All tear downs and inspections will be conducted under the supervision of the tech director.  Tear downs will be held within 24 hours of the protest at a designated place at the discretion of the tech director.  Car owner or driver will be responsible for the removal of parts necessary to check the car.  Refusal to be checked will result in loss of pay and points for that night.  The driver will not be allowed to compete in the next two sanctioned events.  The tech director is not involved in any way in the dispute.  Their sole responsibility is to determine the legality of the car in protest.  They will report their findings directly to HMA.  

Protest Requiring Tear Downs:

Protest fee, $350.00, of which $300.00 will go to the driver and $50.00 will go to HMA.  

1.If found illegal, the car in dispute will not participate at the races until specifications conform to the rules.

2.If found illegal, driver will forfeit all trophies, points, and money won for that nights program.

3.If found illegal, the protest fees minus the HMA fee will be awarded to the protester and the illegal car owner will be fined $100.00.  Second offenders will be fined and suspended at the discretion of the HMA.

4.If protested car is found to be within the prescribed limits, the protest fee minus the HMA fee will be awarded to the car owner or driver of the protested car.


Protest That Can Be Visually Inspected:

Protest fee, $100.00, of which $75.00 will go to the driver and $25.00 will go to HMA.

1.If found illegal, the car in dispute will not participate at the races until specifications conform to the rules of the class.

2.If found illegal, driver will forfeit all trophies, points, and money won for that nights program.

3.If found illegal, the protest fee minus HMA fee will be awarded to the protester and the illegal driver will be fined $50.00.  Second offenders will be fined at the discretion of HMA.

4.If the protested car is found to be within the prescribed limits, the protest fee minus the HMA fee will be awarded to the owner or driver of the protested car.

5.Driver will be fined $150.00 for approaching the flagger to argue or protest under any circumstances during a race program.


There will not be any protests accepted on track procedures flagmen, judges, or pit steward, etc. 

Their decisions are final.
